VGIF began its year-long celebration of 40 years at this year’s Annual Meeting in April 2009.
The Virginia Gildersleeve International Fund is committed to raising funds to empower women and girls through education, leadership training, community development and economic opportunities. The challenges for women in developing countries are many and complex, but we believe that by supporting projects conceived, designed, and implemented by our grantees, VGIF can make a sustainable difference in their lives, their families and their communities.
As former Secretary General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, stated, “There is no tool for development more effective than the empowerment of women.”
Please help us celebrate our 40th anniversary of helping women and children around the world by hosting a party, honoring a friend or helping us fund-raise in other ways so that we can continue in our fight to improve the lives of women and children around the world, one community at a time.
