VGIF funds projects based on local needs.
We are proud to have been on the ground floor in funding organizations that have carried out excellent projects that have then been the catalyst for further growth and success for their beneficiaries.
Thanks to the generosity of our contributing members and donors, at its Annual Meeting in April 2009, VGIF provided grants for 21 projects in 16 different developing countries. Projects focused on grassroots projects that empower women and girls in developing countries, such as the prevention of violence against women in Kasese, Uganda and Tbilisi, Georgia.
Through these life-empowering grants, VGIF realizes its mission for women and children in the developing world.
VGIF must expand its donor base to continue its work around the globe and to meet the increasing demands of the international communities it serves. As world population grows, as gender disparities widen, as aggressor nations challenge nearby neighbors to the detriment of all, the need for private support from individuals becomes even more vital.
