Expand VGIF's Outreach
This is a reminder that ALL can be VGIF ambassadors and may make presentations about VGIF with the help of the extensive library of presentation materials that Louise McLeod has prepared. All of these are available at no charge. It only remains for those interested in doing this to make the necessary arrangements with the groups they know about and to acquire the materials they require from the VGIF office.

Remember that we have set the goal for ourselves of an increase in membership, including more men. Those who belong to service clubs with both male and female members may be our pilot speakers in this particular effort. Other possible venues include the "annual meetings" of other organizations to which VGIF members belong, or local organizations with an interest in international issues such as Great Decisions groups.

April 28 Dinner Speaker
The featured speaker at the Friday evening dinner prior to the VGIF Annual Meeting is Audrey Kuhler-Oostra from the Netherlands. She is the projects convener for the University Women of Europe (UWE) and co-director of a cooperative project with Suriname that VGIF funded in 2005.

Leslie Wright, VGIF UN Delegation Chair, is trying to connect with UN participants from the Netherlands and Suriname who might join us that evening.

Congratulations Carrie Gallagher
This September, Carrie Gallagher will enter Columbia University's Executive Masters in Public Administration program. She reports that this effort "will consume my Saturdays and free time for the next few years". Since the program is housed in the Picker Center at Columbia and is under the umbrella of the "School of International and Public Administration", it will offer Carrie a good environment for growth and support during her graduate studies.

Carrie is completing her first term as VGIF 2nd Vice President and Convener of the Project Grants Committee. She has contributed expertise, in-depth support and creative ideas during her two terms on the VGIF Board. We wish her success in her studies and future endeavors.
