Description
To bring together 38 women, two each from the 16 islands of the Gilbert Archipelago and six from Tarawa for discussions and workshops over a ten-day period on good health practices; growing, cooking and using nutritious foods; household management and economy; running small businesses; improved methods of weaving; and maintenance of sewing machines.

Update
39 women participated and will share what they learned with their fellow villagers. Each island displayed its own handicrafts during the closing ceremonies, which the British, Australian and New Zealand High Commissioners and their wives attended.
